NSW South Coast Marine Tourism Strategy | Illawarra Shoalhaven Joint Organisation

NSW South Coast Marine Tourism Strategy

The Illawarra Shoalhaven Joint Organisation partnered with NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet, Eurobodalla Shire and Bega Valley Shire Councils, the NSW Department of Industry – Lands and Water Division and the Department of Planning and Environment to develop the NSW South Coast Marine Tourism Strategy. The development of the Strategy is a priority action in both the Illawarra Shoalhaven Regional Plan and South East and Tablelands Regional Plan.

The aim of the strategy is to help facilitate future jobs growth and increased economic activity in the marine tourism sector by providing a blueprint for how the three levels of government can work with industry to market and develop marine tourism opportunities and assets across the region.

The Strategy was launched in February 2019 and has moved to the implementation phase.

For this project, Southern NSW is defined as the following six coastal LGAs: Bega, Eurobodalla, Kiama, Shellharbour, Shoalhaven and Wollongong. The Strategy can be viewed here.
